Desert Recruiting Services is please to be working with an Early Childhood Educational School in Saudi Arabia.  This global organization is seeking an experienced FEMALE Academic Coordinator for a two year contract in beautiful Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.  Start date would be May 2018.

Required Skills:
  • Our client has visas for Canada, Australia, Britain and South Africa  
  • Bachelor Degree in Education, or Early Childhood Education
  • Minimum 5 (Five) years experience in a similar role 
  • Minimum 5 years teaching experience (in addition to the management experience) 
  • Fluent English Speaker
  • Due to cultural and religious reasons, only Female positions available 
  • Technically savvy (Computer, Ipad, Smartboards and other online learning materials are used)
  • Holder of a valid police clearance certificate/Criminal Record Check or the ability to obtain one (condition of employment)
Please note that this is considered a bachelorette contract and unfortunately there is no provision to bring family members.

Job Purpose
The Academic Coordinator in cooperation with the administration is responsible for the basic academics coordination in the school. To follow and support the basic academic needs of the curriculum. To ensure the syllabus is followed and completed throughout the academic year.
 
Evaluation of Teachers
1. Ensures the curriculum is followed in accordance to the guidelines and policies of our institution
2. Ensures teachers prepare and follow the syllabus established at the beginning of the year
3. Assists and supports the teachers in following the guidelines of their syllabus
4. Assists teachers with report card preparation and balancing their grade book
 
Students
1. Follow up on students discipline or other behaviour problems in the school
2. Ensures students’ academic records, profiles, and portfolios are regularly updated, and report to the principal of their status
3. Assist teachers in developing intervention plan for students who are academically below level
4. 5. Make sure our students always participate in the competitions and events of our Events
 
Curriculum and Instruction
1. Implement & monitor Afterschool and Preschool Curriculum
2. Conducts needs assessment to determine an appropriate program for academic growth
3. Search for New Curriculum and propose new textbooks for the Management approval
4. Ensures teachers have all the materials needed for their lesson
 
Staffing
1. Assists in recruiting teachers, scheduling interviews, and lesson demonstrations
2. Assists and train new teachers in following the guidelines for their daily lessons
3. Maintains a filing system of all students’ Report cards, tests, and other evaluation documents
4. Ensures teacher’s assistant or substitute teachers have all the necessary materials for substitution

Scheduling
I. Arranges and prepares the timetable for each teacher at the beginning of the year
2. Prepares Duty Schedule for the teachers. Ensure teachers are following the schedule.
3. Organizes parent / teacher conference

Communication
I. Support and attends meetings with students, faculty, and parents
2. Supervises the production of the school newsletter, and other academic advertising brochures and submit it to the management for approval
3. Coordinates weekly meetings with teachers of each class to discuss any progress, changes, or problems in their syllabus, and revise their planner
4. Maintains an academic file for each teacher based on their class or subject.
 
Public Relations
1. Coordinates and assists teachers on any activity or school functions
2. Cooperates with the members of the administration on school activities and field trips.
3. Ensures memos or letters are distributed on the allotted time
4. Follow up and maintains an update on the school activity based on the school calendar.
